The Lunch Lady

Optional volunteer texts

SMS Terms

These terms cover scheduling and kitchen coordination texts for adult volunteers in The Lunch Lady program.

Last updated August 3, 2026

What you are joining

When available, The Lunch Lady Volunteer Texts will send scheduling and kitchen coordination messages to the mobile number you provide. Messages may include open-day alerts, assignment confirmations, reminders, day-of instructions, cancellations, and rescheduling.

This volunteer program serves Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic School. The registered messaging entity is DermAdventures LLC.

Consent and cost

Texting is optional and is not required to volunteer. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may delay or fail to deliver a message.

Consent applies only to volunteer scheduling and kitchen coordination. It is separate from any other agreement.

See the exact optional checkbox on the public SMS Consent Disclosure page.

Reply commands

  • YES 4821 or CONFIRM 4821 confirms the shift tied to that four-digit code.
  • CANT 4821 requests release from the coded assignment. The app checks the current assignment and starts coverage when the request is still valid. Until your schedule updates, treat the shift as assigned. If the code is missing, wrong, or stale, the reply goes to coordinator review and the assignment stays in place. You never need to give a reason.
  • SWAP, RESCHEDULE, or CHANGE asks the coordinator to help find another day. It does not automatically change an assignment.
  • TAKE 7314 accepts the exact coded open shift when the offer is still available.
  • STOP stops volunteer texts to that number.
  • START begins a compliant re-enrollment flow after an opt-out. It does not turn texts on without the required consent record.
  • HELP returns help information.

The four-digit codes above are examples. Use the code printed in your own message. Bare YES, CANT, CONFIRM, and TAKE replies go to review and never change a shift.

CANCEL is reserved as a carrier opt-out alias. It is never advertised as the way to release a volunteer shift. Use CANT when you cannot serve.

A reply that cannot be matched safely goes to the private kitchen inbox for review. An automated system will not move a volunteer to a different shift on its own.

Stopping and restarting

You may reply STOP at any time. After an opt-out, the program may send one final confirmation. To receive texts again, use the volunteer profile when re-enrollment is available or contact the kitchen coordinator for a fresh opt-in.
