Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, mobile number, volunteer availability, kitchen work preferences, school clearance status, assignment history, and the operational messages needed to coordinate your shifts.
When an adult requests access, we also collect the limited information the school office needs to confirm a family relationship: student first and last name, grade, optional homeroom, and the adult's relationship to that student. We do not ask for a student birthday, student ID, medical information, student email address, or student phone number.
For text messaging, we also keep a record of consent, opt-out status, message delivery details, and replies needed to confirm, decline, or reschedule volunteer work.
How we use it
- Offer kitchen jobs that fit your time and stated comfort.
- Send assignment confirmations, reminders, day-of instructions, and schedule changes.
- Respond when you confirm, cannot serve, or ask to reschedule.
- Protect the kitchen schedule, investigate failed notices, and maintain a private operating record.
- Let an authorized school office verifier confirm that an access applicant is an adult relative of a current student.
Parents never need to explain why they cannot serve. Student relationship information is not placed in volunteer text messages, email content, kitchen schedules, Founder OS, operating dashboards, or agent feeds.
Who can see family relationship information
Only the applicant, an authorized Saint Paul school verifier, and a Lunch Lady coordinator or administrator can view the relationship request. School verifiers can confirm the relationship or ask the adult to correct information. Only a coordinator or administrator can approve volunteer app access.
The private verification desk is the current record. A role-protected CSV may be downloaded for a school-controlled office sheet. That export does not include private kitchen notes, assignments, restrictions, text history, or system identifiers.
Mobile information and SMS consent
Mobile numbers and SMS consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
We may use service providers only to operate the volunteer program, such as hosting, authentication, database, and text delivery providers. They may process information only to provide those services or meet legal obligations.
Your choices
Texting is optional and is not required to volunteer. You can reply STOP to stop texts or change your reminder choices in your volunteer profile when text messaging is available. You can still use the volunteer web app and receive required operational notices through the available channels.
Read the SMS Terms for message frequency, reply commands, and help information.
Retention and protection
SMS message contents and private coordinator resolution notes are redacted after 90 days. We keep consent, opt-out, delivery, message-count, and provider-cost records as needed for compliance, kitchen operations, and financial review.
We may keep approved adult volunteer contact, readiness, preference, and service records across school years for kitchen coordination, safety, school recordkeeping, and future volunteer outreach. Denied or withdrawn access requests are removed 90 days after closure. Student relationship details remain private, are reviewed at least once each school year, and are removed when the school no longer needs them to verify family eligibility. Access is limited by role. Sensitive contact and student information is not included in the general kitchen schedule or the Founder OS summary feed.
Adult volunteer service
This service is for adult volunteers and program operators. It is not a student account system and is not designed to collect information directly from children.
